Under the direction of the Director and the Center Administrator, the incumbent serves as Senior Financial and Administrative Analyst for the Center for Embedded and Cyber-physical Systems (CECS). Responsibilities include high-level of development and contract & grants management and research administration of extramural research collaborations, major federal and private contracts, grants and other extramural funds, including high-level foreign collaborations that support research and instructional programs within the Center. Incumbent is also responsible for program management of the MECPS graduate degree program including admission processing through the SLATE program, scheduling classes through eSOC, activating course evaluations through EEE, and advising current and potential graduate students. As part of the Center's financial management team, the incumbent has independent decision-making authority, policy analysis and interpretation and independent problem solving responsibilities. This position also has responsibility for website development and maintenance and event coordination for CECS symposia, seminars and events.
Demonstrated ability to make sound decisions and employ effective problem-solving techniques, including: strong analytical skills sufficient to conduct comprehensive analysis and the ability to rapidly review and accurately analyze complex requirements, documents, policies and regulations in detail. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with people at all organizational levels. Demonstrated ability to write grammatically correct, clear and concise documents. Demonstrated ability to work independently and follow through on assignments with minimal direction. Bachelor's degree in a related field and 5-7 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience in research administration. Skill to operate a computer in a networked environment with expertise in the differing on-line procedures from sponsoring agencies, and working knowledge of computer programs such as MS Office Suite, Wordpress and Adobe Acrobat. Ability to organize, prioritize and manage a complex workload. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Demonstrated knowledge of federal regulations, uniform guidance amd OMB pertaining to research administration. Familiarity with research methodology and terminology. Ability to function as a team member; commitment to team success. Ability to interact and manage relationships directly with present and prospective partnering organizations and granting agencies, faculty, staff, students, campus administration, and community members. Demonstrated planning and organizational skills to assess priorities in order to complete work in a timely manner when there are changes in workload, competing assignments and deadline constraints.

Completion of Research Administration training program.
SLATE, eSOC, WebAdmin, WebRoster
Knowledge of computer systems such as Kuali Financial System, Kuali Research.
Demonstrated knowledge of UCI policies and procedures pertaining to research administration.
