Incumbentmaintains responsibility for the preparation of the OR before and after procedures, as well as the care of the patient during and after procedures.When not involved in a procedure, incumbent assists with clinics by obtaining vital signs, rooming patients, answering phone messages, preparing charts, submitting authorization requests, and performing other tasks as necessary.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the HealthSystem
Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
Understanding of medical terminology
Successful completion of an accredited course in surgical technology
Two years of demonstrated surgical technologist experience in an acute care facility
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
Current BLS certification
Demonstrated experience working as a Surgical Tech in a perioperative setting
Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
Possession of a national Scrub Technician certification
