Essential Job Duties:
The Technology and Participant Outreach Extension Assistant position will be an integral part of the Department of Agricultural and Human Sciences professional faculty and staff at North Carolina State University. The position will interface with national work groups and committees; statewide, county, and district Cooperative Extension staff and volunteers; as well as other state and community¬-based organizations.
The Technology and Participant Outreach Extension Assistant will work under the direction of the Coordinator and in collaboration with the Technology and Social Media Extension Associate to implement low, medium and high-level technology strategies as outlined within EFNEP policy to increase participant recruitment, retention, and graduation rates. The Technology and Participant Outreach Extension Assistant will develop and craft accurate nutrition content to be distributed through relevant media channels. It is expected that the position will remain current with research as it relates to the use of technology as an extension of nutrition education with low-income audiences.
Essential job duties include, but are not limited to:
Contributing to social media efforts to expand the reach of the EFNEP through platforms including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, Youtube, and WordPress webpage.
Informing program strategy for technology outreach using participant data and platform analytics.
Assisting with onset production, recording and post production of videos used in online lessons, curricula, training, and social media.
Developing staff training to assist EFNEP Educators in utilizing technology strategies to reach new audiences and improve graduation rates.
Tracking and reporting outreach of technology implementation to local, state, and national stakeholders.
Working in coordination with key agencies and program partners within North Carolina to support program outreach to low-income audiences.
Other duties as assigned.
The position will also be charged with and expected to:
Market EFNEP, Cooperative Extension, the Department and the University.
Maintain positive relationships with county, regional, state and federal partners.
Participate in local, regional, state, and/or national programmatic workgroups and committees.
Work with Departmental faculty to coordinate outreach for research projects.
Travel within the state and within the continental US with some overnight stays to implement production and assist and monitor EFNEP Educators with blended programming aligned with EFNEP federal policy.
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Require post-baccalaureate credentials or a bachelor's degree plus alternative or equivalent professional training and experience may be substituted for the advanced degree on an exceptional basis.

Demonstrated success and proficiency in working with teams and a commitment to diversity and pluralism.
Excellent verbal and written communication.
Fluent in both English and Spanish.
Proficient in technology used in educational program outreach.
The following qualifications and skills are preferred, but not required:
Demonstrated expertise in adult and youth education theories and practices for diverse audiences and food, nutrition, and health.
Experience in training, adult education or teaching.
Experience working with diverse limited resource audiences and the agencies that serve them.
Proficient in communications and video development and post production.
Experience in community nutrition education and program development for limited resource families.
Experience with Cooperative Extension, EFNEP, SNAP-Ed or other health related program delivery and management.
Strong commitment to the Land Grant philosophy.
Required license or certification:
A valid drivers license and reliable, personal transportation is required for travel. NC drivers license required within 60 days of hire and must be maintained.
