The Department of Pediatrics is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to join our team in a part time position. Columbia University Medical Center's Department of Pediatrics is a world leader in providing care for children. Our mission areas include Healthcare, Education and Research. We offer care for our patients in over 25 specialty areas as well as individualized care for complex cases. Our Residency, Fellowship and Graduate programs are among the best in the Nation. Our Clinical, Translational and Basic Science research features collaborations across specialties and stretches from the bench to bedside. We also have several active Clinical trials available to our patients. This position will support the department by providing clinical care in collaboration with physicians and allied health professionals in the outpatient Pediatric Pulmonology and Sleep Medicine practice in Stamford, CT.
Incumbent duties and responsibilities include:
Providing patient care in the office at Stamford, CT
Following up on tests and investigations
Answering telephone calls from patients
Providing patient education
Working with home companies to arrange services for at home IV therapy and technology-dependent children
Coordinating clinical research trials (including identifying eligible patients for the trials)
Participating and leading quality improvement initiatives
Complying with ColumbiaDoctors billing procedures
Requires bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience, plus four years of related experience
Have a valid Connecticut NP license
Must be able to work in a fast-paced and diverse environment, and demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills
Must have strong time management skills, strong multi-tasking abilities and the ability to exercise good judgement
Have a valid NP license in New York
Bilingual in English/Spanish
Infectious Agents - Sputum samples, blood
