The University of Pennsylvania, School of Veterinary Medicine, Department of Clinical Sciences and Advanced Medicine invites applications for a clinical faculty position in Ophthalmology. The position may be offered at the Assistant or Associate Professor level, in the Academic Clinician track of the Associated Faculty.
The small animal ophthalmology program at Penn Vet currently consists of 4 boarded-certified ophthalmologists (3 ACVO, 1 ECVO Diplomates), 2 residents-in-training, 2 full-time CVT's and 1 nursing assistant. The hospital is a dynamic and intellectually stimulating environment with an excellent nursing staff and residents. Candidates must have a veterinary degree and must be a Diplomate of the American or European College of Veterinary Ophthalmology. Salary will be commensurate with professional and academic credentials and experience. Applications will be considered until an appropriate candidate is identified. The successful candidate will be responsible for didactic, laboratory and clinical teaching of veterinary medical students, participation in patient care, supervision of residents and continuing education for veterinarians and related stakeholders. A minimum of eighty percent (80%) of the allocated position's time (42 clinic weeks) will be devoted to clinical service in Ophthalmology, with the remaining portion dedicated to scholarly activities such as teaching, and administrative and school responsibilities
