We are seeking individuals to Join our Pack as a Food Service Technician.
This position requires preparation and serving of food in a high volume food service environment while maintaining high quality standards.
Essential job duties include:
Following standardized recipes to ensure food quality, appearance, and taste.
Performing specialty tasks such as display station set up and service, enhanced garnishing, recipe development, and event meal assistance.
Duties may also include kitchen sanitation and cleaning as required by health and sanitation good practices
Working as food technician and follow lead cook directions. Includes preparation of ingredients for recipes and production of food items according to the recipe.
This position may also serve as a lead worker over temporary staff and/or students assigned to the operation, supervising the preparation and cooking routines.
Maintaining Grade A sanitation rating of 95% or better.
Other duties as assigned to ensure NC State Dining business needs are met.
Position may be asked to assist in other locations as necessary.
Duties in other locations may be assigned by management to utilize knowledge and skills during peak or slow periods or when emergency situations occur in other areas.
Demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.
Some positions may require certification by the Department of Correction.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Ability to communicate effectively with customers, supervisors, and peers.
Ability to follow written and/or verbal instructions.
Knowledge of equipment, cooking methods, measurements and food safety.
Provide outstanding customer service, including the ability to remain professional and respectful under pressure when dealing with difficult situations.
Excellence in completing all tasks.
Requires bending, twisting, pulling and pushing. Because of the nature of a food service operations and working in a kitchen, you must be able to work in extremely hot and cold conditions.
Must be able to lift up to 60 lb with or without reasonable accommodation.
Ability to follow safety procedures. Will routinely handle sharp items such as knives and slicer blades as well as be around hot food items, food pans, ovens, fryers, steam tables, grills.
High School Diploma or equivalency.
Demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work will also be considered.
Experience working in fast service restaurant environment.
