Essential Job Duties:
The IT System Administrator III is part of a team responsible for the development, maintenance, and support of the University Identity and Web environments. Specifically, this position is instrumental in the ongoing management and development of the Enterprise University Identity Management system. The position will also be involved in the deployment, configuration management, and support of enterprise level web services serving the University, including the Shibboleth Web authentication and cPanel web hosting environments.
Providing back-up to staff who are responsible for other systems within the environment.
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Master's degree and at least two years' of relevant experience; or Bachelor's degree with at least three years' of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training and relevant experience.
- For management‐level roles, also include with the above requirements 1‐2 years of supervisory experience.
Experience with system administration of WebLogic systems.
Extensive knowledge of Linux operating systems.
Demonstrated proficiency in multiple programming languages.
Experience with Git / GitHub (or equivalent remote repository solution).
Understanding of core networking and security principles.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Experience with Linux-based configuration management technologies (ex: Puppet, Chef, Ansible).
Experience with Oracle Identity Manager (or other Oracle Fusion Middleware products).
Experience with OpenLDAP.
Programming expertise in Python or Java.
Experience with Linux OS performance tuning and optimization.
Experience with Linux-Based web (Apache/Nginx/Tomcat) and database (MySQL/MariaDB/Oracle) services.
Working knowledge of ServiceNow help desk software (or similar ITSM software).
Ability to learn new skills quickly and independently.
