1.Maintain compliance with CNCS guidance and federal requirements for National Service projects. 2.Plan, manage, and evaluate the recruitment, selection, and placement of volunteers to meet project targets. 3.Maintain contact and working relationships with volunteer stations as well as recruit new ones in accordance with CNCS primary focus areas. 4.Manage the tracking and recording of all volunteer hours and maintain accurate records of volunteer activities. 5.Coordinate and facilitate the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program in Durham by recruiting volunteers, collaborating with IRSSPEC Relationship Managers, ensuring compliance with regulations, and supporting volunteers. 6.Coordinate and facilitate the Intergenerational Leadership Institute as a life-long learning opportunity annually. 7.Research, pursue, and write grants and other funding opportunities in cooperation with the Director of Student Engagement and Durham Tech Foundation. 8.Monitor budgets and track spending. 9.Prepare and submit project reports to funding agencies. 10.Participate in professional development, training, and community service activities. 11.Provide recognition of volunteers. 12.Revise and update orientation and/or training materials to prepare volunteers and mitigate risk. 13.Provide training to volunteers on proper documentation and use of timesheets and reimbursements. 14.Effectively utilize the RSVP of Durham County Advisory Council and designated committees, keeping them informed of program activities and progress. 15.Effectively utilize RSVP volunteers and work-study students to assist in completion of RSVP tasks. 16.Attend community events as a representative of Durham Tech and/or RSVP. 17.Represent Durham Tech at area community engagement conferences and meetings. 18.Respond to RSVP@durhamtech.edu emails. 19.Order supplies and facilitate reimbursements for senior volunteers. 20.Ensure RSVP webpages on Durham Tech's website are regularly updated, accurate, and appealing by communicating with Durham Tech's Webmaster. 21.Advertise service events through social media, including Facebook and Twitter. 22.Coordinate marketing of events to the public through social and print media, posting upcoming events and opportunities on Durham Tech campuses and in the Durham community as needed. 23.Serve on Durham Tech councils and committees as assigned. 24.Participate in Student Engagement events and meetings, looking for opportunities for collaboration and collegial support. 25.Other duties as assigned by the Director of Student Engagement; Dean of Student Engagement, Transitions, and Academic Success; Vice-President of Student Engagement, Development, and Support; or President of Durham Technical Community College.
The RSVP Coordinator is responsible for the oversight, administration, planning, development, marketing, growth, and continuation of the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program.
