Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Senior Program Coordinator for Paul Robeson Library in Camden. Reporting to the Director of the Paul Robeson Library in Camden, this professional is responsible for a variety of tasks including oversight of programs and events for patrons at the library including students, faculty, and staff. This role’s work is consistent with an understanding of the mission, vision, role, and goals of the Paul Robeson Library, Rutgers University Libraries and RU-Camden. The Senior Program Coordinator oversees the day to day financial operations of the Robeson library. Which includes purchasing, payroll, budgeting, reconciling, etc.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Administers and coordinates the development of policy, research studies, and comprehensive planning documents for the library.
Oversees the day-to-day administration of programs, projects, and/or processes regarding the planning, preparation, evaluation, and control of communications, events, records, statistics, reports, and documents.
Develops and oversees programs and is responsible for collecting feedback, evaluations and surveys are conducted to assess program needs.
Works closely with stakeholder exhibits and event committees across the campus, prepares informational material as appropriate.
Oversees supplies and physical space needs. Works collaboratively on building and facilities issues with Access Services department.
Identifies and tracks competitive programs and benchmarks.
Develops and maintains effective relationships with various public and private institutions and agencies to assess program requirements, modifications, or innovations.
Position is responsible for regular reporting of library accounts and transactions as requested by the Director.
Performs related duties as assigned
Minimum Education and Experience:
Requires a bachelor's degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience that demonstrates knowledge and understanding of program design and execution, coordination, organization, facilitation, report analysis, writing, and promotion/outreach.
Also requires a minimum of two years relevant experience in a program coordination or administrative function that includes event programming, coordination of work.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Good communication skills; and computer literacy.
Experience using MS Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Publisher and/or Access)
Experience in a financial/accounting function and/or prior experience managing budgets
Prior experience managing events/programs and managing budgets.
Providing work direction and experience leading teams preferred.
Equipment: Standard PC, Scanner, Printer, Software: MS Excel, Word, Oracle Cloud, Marketplace, PeopleSoft, etc.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Ability to work a flexible schedule; includes some evenings and weekends for special events.
May be required to lift, push carts, stock supply rooms and carry equipment/banners/supplies to and from events.
Library hours may vary, the regular schedule for this position may include work on weekends and evenings. Assigned hours may change throughout the year based on the Academic Calendar.
