TThe Department of Surgery, Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons, is seeking applications for surgeons interested in a one-year Advanced Fellowship in Colorectal Surgery with a focus in re-operative, IBD and pouch surgery. Ideal candidates will have strong interest in all facets of contemporary colorectal surgery. Competence in abdominal and anorectal procedures, colonoscopy and minimally invasive procedures is required. The position would ideally suit someone who has completed a colorectal fellowship and is seeking to advance skills in complex and reoperative abdominal and pelvic surgery. Candidates who already have a strong surgical background and would like to undertake training in colorectal surgery are also welcome. Responsibilities include seeing patients in the clinic at one or more of our office locations and performing some anorectal and abdominal cases at attending level, participation in complex reoperative procedures and sharing in the call schedule.
In addition to clinical duties, the incumbent will teach medical students, residents and fellows. Responsibilities include participation in the academic and research missions of the University and the Department of Surgery.
