George Mason University, Information Technology Services (ITS) – located on the Fairfax, Va., campus—invites applications for a Database Analyst position within the Enterprise Applications, Database, Middleware & ERP Support team. Establishes, maintains and manages databases supporting centralized administrative system applications and decentralized system applications;
Assists the Database, Middleware & ERP Support manager in developing and implementing policies and procedures governing security and access authorization;
Develops and maintains backup, recovery and restart procedures, develops automated tools to monitor database performance, tunes databases for optimum operating efficiency and ensures maximum on-line availability of the databases and ERP applications by working with Systems Engineering, Operations, Network and Applications staff to resolve problems in a timely manner
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent combination of education and experience;
Experience with design and maintenance of Oracle relational databases;
Excellent communication skills for supporting Mason users and technical staff;
Knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL;
Experience with Oracle database management:
Patches and upgrades
Scripting Language – Shell (Unix/Linux)
Experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager;
Experience with the Ellucian Banner application and the Banner suite applications, including Administrative Applications and Self Service;
Experience upgrading and administrating the ERP Banner application;
Experience with Oracle 11g or 12c OCP;
Four or more years’ of experience relevant to requirements of position.
