The Keck School of Medicine (KSOM) of the University of Southern California (USC) and Childrenâs Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) in the Department of Pediatrics in the Division of Neurology are actively seeking full-time faculty members for the positions of Assistant and/or Associate Professor of Clinical Neurology and Pediatrics to join its current team of 17 full-time and three part-time faculty members.
General Neurology Program
The CHLA Division of Neurology and USC Keck School of Medicine are seeking an exceptional faculty member to work within the General Neurology Program at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. The successful applicant will be board certified in Neurology with Special Qualification in Child Neurology and experienced in the diagnosis, care and treatment of general neurological disorders in a clinical setting. This open position supports the expansion of our program where we see over 15,000 visits a year and continue to grow at rate of ~15% year over year. Currently our General Neurology Program is composed of six full time and three part time faculty with both clinical and research expertise as well as three mid-level providers.
Movement Disorder Program
The CHLA Division of Neurology and USC Keck School of Medicine are also seeking an outstanding faculty member to work within the Movement Disorders Program at the rank of Assistant, Associate or Full Professor. Candidates with experience administering botulinum toxin injections and managing intrathecal baclofen pumps will join a program that provides the newest treatment options for movement disorders and access to the latest clinical trials within the field. Faculty with interests in Deep Brain Stimulation and /or interests in clinical trials of new medications and surgical treatments are encouraged to apply.
The Division of Neurology is part of the Neurosciences Service Line (the Neurological Institute) which has been highlighted as a key service line by the hospital. The Division of Neurology is currently undergoing rapid expansion with the development of comprehensive clinical general and sub-specialty child neurology programs as well as enhancement of its research portfolio. Buildout of a new integrated clinic space for the Divisions of Neurology and Neurosurgery will be completed in late 2020. The goal of the Neurologic Institute is to offer comprehensive and integrated neurologic services in a patient-centered environment.
CHLA is a busy, urban teaching hospital with a diverse patient population. New hospital facilities opened in July 2011 with an increase to 311 beds. There is a very active outpatient neurology clinic with over four subspecialty programs. Our faculty provide outpatient clinical services to CHLA and five satellite clinic locations within the greater Los Angeles area. The division has an ACGME-approved pediatric epilepsy fellowship program in addition to the ACGME-approved child neurology residency program which operates in collaboration with the KSOM LAC + USC/University Hospital. Furthermore, there is ongoing clinical research within our general child neurology and subspecialty programs.Â
