A Master's degree in Social Work from a school accredited by the Council of Social Work Education.
A current license to practice social work in the State of Michigan.
LLMSW’s will be considered for this position.
The ideal candidate will have medical social work experience, as well as experience working with the dialysis patient population. The candidate should be familiar with the CMS Conditions of Coverage and the unique financial/insurance issues related to this population. In addition, the candidate will have strong assessment and crisis intervention skills, the ability to work with a chronically ill population providing advocacy, adjustment to illness and treatment counseling, patient education and end of life care. The candidate requires an ability to work in a multidisciplinary team, work with a diverse patient population and manage a large caseload with multiple competing demands
This is part time, 20 hour/week position. Schedule to be determined. Some evening work may be required
This position may be underfilled at a lower classification depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate. Advancement through the career ladder at the Expert or Clinical Scholar Level is required for placement in the MSW Senior Classification.
