The Registration Service Specialist (part-time) works with programs, processes, or services that are provided by the department. The Registration Service Specialist may provide customer service requiring general knowledge and understanding of programs, processes, or services, administer varied or related processes, and/or provide specialized information related to programs, processes, or services provided by the department. Registration Service Specialist performs a wide variety of services and may function as administrative support, support specified classes and training programs, process applications for admission to various programs, registrations, and course enrollments, provide support services for programs and events, assist instructors with course materials, and assist with space utilization planning and reservations.
Coordinates and performs registration activities for non-credit courses under the Center for Professional Studies (i.e. - provides official/unofficial transcripts; completes student verification forms; conducts telephone and in-person registrations; produces registration forms and registration audits; prints individual audits and transcripts; answers telephones and provides information; provides customer assistance at counter; provides backup coverage to other employees or areas as needed).
Coordinates daily operations of Center for Professional Studies (i.e. - oversees office operations; maintains office calendar and policies/procedures; maintains conference/classroom schedules and computerizes all room scheduling; assists with development of Master Schedule; assigns course numbers; assists with catalog development; resolves student record problems).
Coordinates/monitors generation and distribution of all class rosters and final grade sheet (i.e. - creates correspondence to faculty concerning rosters, grading procedures, and grade due dates; oversees filing and historical preservation of rosters for credit and non-credit courses).
Oversees issuing certificates of completion for students.
Coordinates maintenance of student records (i.e. - oversees preservation and/or destruction of all student records in compliance with regulations governing record retention/destruction; researches/corrects transcripts, registrations, or other records).
Contributes to a work environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds through delivery of excellent customer service.
A high school diploma or the equivalent
Three years of general office experience or an equivalent combination of education and general office experience is required.
Candidates must possess proven problem-solving skills, excellent oral and written communication skills, commitment to student service and demonstrated experience collaborating with faculty and staff.
Keyboarding skills are required.
A working knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications is required.
A working knowledge of or the ability to learn and use database applications, the student information system, enterprise resource planning system, and other systems or applications that may be used within the University or department is required.
Effective verbal and written communication skills are required.
The ability to develop knowledge of, respect for, and skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds is required.
