Full-Time, Non-Tenure Track Faculty Position. The Department of Chemical and Biochemical Engineering at Rutgers University–New Brunswick invites applications and nominations for a faculty position at the Assistant Teaching Professor rank, a long-term, career-oriented position with the possibility of reappointment and promotion through the university's teaching faculty track (https://academiclaborrelations.rutgers.edu/non-tenure-track-faculty-non-libraries). This is a non-tenure track position with a calendar year appointment that begins July 2020. The initial appointment is for one year, renewable subject to enrollment, availability of funding and performance.
The CBE Department welcomes dynamic and engaging candidates who are dedicated to instructional innovation and can bring diverse intellectual, geographical, gender and ethnic perspectives to the work. The successful candidate will employ evidence-based teaching practices, student-centered learning approaches, and industry relevant content in a chemical engineering context. Primary duties will include: (1) teaching a variety of core undergraduate courses in the CBE curriculum and (2) guiding the development of the CBE Experiential Education Program for undergraduate and master's students by expanding and formalizing co-op and internship opportunities and assisting with the students' professional preparation for these experiences. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and effective collaboration with faculty, staff, students and industry partners are required. Other duties may include developing industry-sponsored capstone projects for laboratory and design courses, contributing to recruitment and outreach activities, mentoring students, applying for education funding, and serving on internal committees.

Minimum Education and Experience:
Minimum of a doctoral degree in Chemical Engineering or a closely related field and demonstrated evidence of effective teaching and student services.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
The candidate should demonstrate strong potential for and commitment to teaching and leading instruction in a variety of undergraduate courses in support of the CBE curriculum, which includes courses in material and energy balances, thermodynamics, transport, computational methods, kinetics, separations, process control, biochemical engineering, and design. The successful candidate will employ evidence-based teaching practices, student-centered learning approaches, and industry relevant content in a chemical engineering context. Must have excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills. Familiarity with experiential learning programs is preferred but not required
