Performs biomedical &/or social-behavioral research by recruiting study participants, administering tests &/or questionnaires and following protocols. Collects, compiles, tabulates &/or processes responses; gathers information. Assists in the preparation of material for inclusion in reports. Focuses primarily on recruitment for multiple clinical trials. Completes all activities by strictly following Good Clinical Practices (GCP) & all relevant current local, state, & federal laws, regulations, guidance, policy & procedure developed by the NU Institutional Review Board (IRB), Food & Drug Administration (FDA) Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), the International Conference on Harmonization (ICH) and the department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation
Recruits study participants for multiple ongoing clinical trials via phone calls, in person and online recruitment methods. This includes pre-screening assessments to determine study eligibility.
Schedules study visits with participants as well as NMH radiology and other groups we work with at NM.
Obtains consent as per NU IRB SOP and collects data including vital signs, ECGs and lab draws for study visits as needed.
Prints and files lab reports and other documents as needed for subject charts.
Consults with coordinators and clinicians to determine pretreatment & eligibility requirements of protocol from completion to randomization of participants.
Facilitates communication with key personnel & participants to maintain project study flow.
Completes some study visits and or procedures as needed per coordinator.
Completes tasks assigned by marketing manager as related to recruitment.
Handles processing of labs from multiple study subjects. Will ship samples as needed per protocol as well.
Maintains detailed records of recruitment outcomes, which may include collecting, extracting & entering data; &/or preparing basic charts & graphs.
Files and enters data per study protocol.
Completes portions of grant applications &/or documents associated with current local, state, & federal regulatory guidelines, requirements, laws & research protocols.
Updates recruitment databases (REDCap) daily, making sure to keep records current and accurate.
Creates recruitment material as needed per marketing manager’s discretion.
Manage and edit REDCap database for new studies.
Submits IRB materials as needed per study coordinator’s discretion.
Records notes during weekly staff meetings.
May process reimbursements for travel expenses.
Monitors & distributes petty cash.
Works on collecting pricing information for research procedures completed outside of the study site which will then be submitted to the coordinator/manager handling budget negotiations.
May train other research staff on recruitment.
Maintains lab supplies keeping inventory of the clinic needs. Will restock items and ensure clinic spaces are disinfected on a weekly basis.
Other duties as assigned by direct supervisor, coordinators or marketing manager.
Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's or higher degree in a major such as social or health science or related; OR appropriate combination of education and experience.
Must complete Northwestern's IRB CITI training before interacting with any participants & must re-certify every 3 years.

Basic knowledge of clinical research
Previous clinical research experience involving direct interaction with participants.
Experience processing labs.
Current IATA certification.

Skill with databases and data management
Experience taking vital signs, ECGs and height and weight measurements
