The Finance/Grant Lead serves in a customer-facing, consultative role and is responsible for providing finance and grant support in a timely and accurate manner and in compliance with all applicable institutional, UNL, State, and Federal regulations, policies, and guidelines. The Finance/Grant Lead primarily executes and reviews routine and complex finance and grant transactions. The Finance/Grants Lead will work closely with employees within the departments served, the Oldfather Business Cooperative, as well as functional office staff, providing a high level of customer service and professionalism in all interactions. This position functions under limited supervision and is expected to utilize sophisticated technology to provide professional services. Supervises staff. Works with direct reports to identify and facilitate ongoing professional development opportunities.

Minimum Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in business administration or closely related field, plus four years’ experience in accounting, financial, grants/contracts, human resources and/or business/information management required; equivalent education/experience considered. Experience with large integrated financial management system and PC-based word processing, spreadsheet and database software programs required. Working knowledge of accounting, budgeting, personnel or payroll practices and grants/contracts accounting and management essential. Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills; good technical, analytical, organizational, problem-solving and decision-making skills; and ability to multi-task and work effectively in team settings as well as independently necessary.
Prefer Master's degree in accounting, business management or closely related field. Master's degree will substitute for two years of required experience. Prefer experience working in an academic business setting, working knowledge of UNL and supervisory experience. Knowledge of federal and state laws and guidelines related to business practices helpful. Knowledge of grant terminology and practices desirable.
Posted Salary: $53,000 minimum
