The Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California (USC) has opened recruitment for a Senior Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs within the Deanâs Office.
The Senior Associate Dean is responsible for the design, implementation and monitoring of policies and programs in areas related to faculty affairs including but not limited to: appointments, promotions, tenure, and faculty compensation; faculty and chair performance evaluation; recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and retention; faculty recognition and awards, benefits, and mentorship; reporting and compliance with university policy. The Senior Associate Dean serves as the ad hoc representative to the Keck Faculty Council and as the liaison with the Faculty Affairs office in the Office of the Provost. The successful candidate will have experience establishing best practices and innovation in the area of faculty, career, and leadership development. This individual will be responsible for fostering diversity, equity and inclusiveness and a respectful, positive work environment.
This individual should have a degree at the doctoral level with sufficient academic credentials to be considered eligible for appointment to the faculty at senior rank. It is expected that this administrative role will be a full time academic appointment as a faculty member in an appropriate department in the school. Â
