Eugene Lang College of Liberal Arts is the New School’s undergraduate liberal arts program. Serving roughly 1900 students, Lang offers a rigorous, writing-intensive education that allows students a great deal of flexibility to shape their academic pathways. The majority of Lang’s classes are small seminars, taught by a faculty of award-winning scholars, artists, writers, activists, and performers with extensive connections beyond the academy. Lang students also have the opportunity to take courses across The New School’s colleges including Parsons, the New School for Social Research, and the College of Performing Arts.
The New School seeks a Senior Associate Director of Admissions for the Eugene Lang College of Liberal Arts. This role is responsible for providing leadership and direction for the recruitment and enrollment of students for all programs. The Senior Associate Director will lead the admissions application review and serve as the enrollment management liaison for Lang.
We are looking for a bright, motivated, personable, organized and articulate individual to ensure a positive experience for applicants, faculty, staff and alumni. A strong customer service orientation and the demonstrated ability to perform a variety of complex and diverse tasks involving independent judgment and action are required.
Responsibilities ●Evaluate, analyze and make recommendations for academic credential review process, standards, including international transcript and GPA evaluations, preparing applicants' files for review ●Work closely with the Lang faculty and Dean ●Prepare and evaluate applicant file data and execute admission decisions on applicant files ●Serve as member of recruitment planning team in the development of overall SEM undergraduate recruitment strategies ●Liaise with Admission Communications team in the development, maintenance and execution of the college's communication and social networking plans to undergraduate students across the admission pipeline ●Create and maintain reference materials for file review, transcript evaluation and general SEM policies and procedures ●Develop and maintain close working relationships with key enrollment partners, including Student Success, Orientation, Advising, Housing, and International Student and Scholar Services ●Collaborate with the events team on the development and execution of programming for these populations and/or their influencers ●Management of Lang undergraduate admissions staff ●Other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements ●Bachelor's degree ●Driver's license and valid Passport ●Possess a strong knowledge of undergraduate admission recruitment policies and best practices ●Outstanding public relations and communication skills ●Slate experience desired
This position requires occasional evening and weekend work. Proven track record in higher education administration and admissions a plus. Flexibility and ability to be nimble in a dynamic, progressive environment will serve serious candidates well.
