Career Advisor Employer Relations Specialist (Part-Time/Temporary position)
Reporting to the Director of Career Services in the College of Science and Mathematics (CSAM), the Employer Relations Specialist will focus on employer relations development, which includes developing new external employer partners for internship offerings, establishing new internship and cooperative education sites, and increasing employer involvement in on-campus recruitment initiatives such as campus career fairs, on-site interviews, and on-site resume reviews.
Develops relationships with employer partners to provide internship, cooperative education, and career opportunities for students.
Assists students with early connections to industry professionals and experiential opportunities, including internships.
Provides career advising to students, including career and internship exploration, resume composition, professional etiquette, etc., both in-person and online.Â Â
Maintains currency in the theory and practice of career advising.
Supports and facilitates career development activities on campus, including classroom presentations, career development workshops, career fairs, and campus visits by alumni and employer partners.
Helps CSAM students understand and successfully negotiate University processes, procedures, policies, and regulations related to campus career services and systems, including the Symplicity platforms.
Collaborates with UniversityCareer Services initiatives to ensure the consistency and quality of career services across the University.
Tracks career development progress of students throughout their studies at Montclair State.
Performs other duties as assigned.

One year full-time professional experience working in higher education or a field related to workforce development.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as well as independently.

Masterâ™s Degree in relevant academic field.
Familiarity with STEM industries.
