The post doc position will contribute to the integrated research and extension land-grant Mission of the home unit and IANR, as an effective scholar and citizen. This is a non-tenure leading post-doctorate research associate position in the Department of Biological Systems Engineering stationed at the West Central Research and Extension Center for a period of 12 months with the possibility of extending beyond if funding is available.
The post doc will help with experimental design, data analysis, and writing of reports, manuscripts, and proposals. The post doc will be responsible for leading and/or assisting with various field and laboratory studies conducted under the direction of Dr. Daran Rudnick, particularly as it pertains to the West Central Irrigation Research Laboratory. The irrigation team has grown beyond the scope of the current staff. The post doc will be assisting with the day-to-day operations related to research and extension efforts around agricultural water management. Specifically, the post doc will assist in developing a high-impact, nationally and internationally recognized research and extension program in irrigation engineering and agricultural water management; seek and establish effective disciplinary and trans-disciplinary collaborations; connect with industry partners to strengthen research and extension programming; co-develop proposals; publish in high-quality, high-impact peer-reviewed journals; and participate in scientific meetings and other appropriate professional activities.
Minimum Required Qualifications:
PhD required in Biological Systems Engineering, Agricultural Engineering. Irrigation Engineering, Agronomy, or comparative field.
Experience coordinating research projects, publishing, and grant writing.
