West Virginia University Institute of Technology (WVU Tech), part of the WVU system of campuses located in Beckley, WV, is currently inviting applications and nominations for the following employment opportunity:
The Department of Accounting and Management in the College of Business, Humanities and Social Sciences invites applications for a nine month, full-time, non-tenure-track, benefits-eligible Teaching Assistant Professor of Accounting to begin August 2020. The position is a term appointment of 3 years and renewable depending on performance.
Responsibilities include teaching 12 undergraduate hours per semester in a variety of accounting courses and other responsibilities commensurate with a teaching position. Applicants who can teach principles of accounting, advanced accounting, accounting for nonbusiness entities, accounting information systems, auditing, individual/corporate tax accounting are of particular interest to the department. The position requires course delivery via in-seat and online modalities utilizing Blackboard with Quality Matters Standards. Evidence of college-level teaching and active use of technology is highly desirable. Additional responsibilities include student advising, recruitment, retention, curriculum assessment, involvement with student organization, and performing other duties associated with a faculty position. The teaching faculty will be evaluated based on 80% teaching and 20% service assignment. Continuous Professional development that maintains relevancy in the discipline is necessary.
