The Vice President of Administrative Services (VPAS) works as part of a highly collaborative, forward-thinking, dynamic, and innovative team. The VPAS serves as the Chief Financial Officer by providing
vibrant and innovative leadership to the college Administrative Services, Business Services, Facilities, Grants and Contracts departments. The VPAS plans, directs, and evaluates administrative functions through business practices and development, to meet student, community, and industry needs. The successful candidate has a passion for student success, enjoys working collaboratively and creatively with internal and external stakeholders, has an authentic and appreciative leadership style, values humor, and is driven by a genuine desire to provide excellent service with the goal of student success. This position reports directly to the President and works collaboratively and with positivity as a member of the college executive leadership team to advance the colleges strategic goals and objectives. The VPAS also acts as an advisor to the College President in matters pertaining to Administrative Services, Business Services, Facilities, Grants and Contracts in the Maricopa County Community College District.
Minimum Qualifications for Student Affairs or non-academic pathway:
Master’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution in education or field related to area of assignment and four years of progressively responsible management and/or leadership experience in field of assignment that includes two years of supervisory experience. Examples of student affairs academic support management/leadership experience includes: program management, project management, budget development and management related to programs or projects, staff supervision, policy development, administration, evaluation and compliance. Equivalency allowed for Non Academic area.
Ability to thrive in a progressive, forward-thinking, high energy, and highly collaborative work environment.
Earned Master of Business Administration degree from a regionally accredited post-secondary institution.
Three or more years’ experience leading strategic budget planning. Three or more years’ experience managing grants and contracts.
Teaching experience at a community college.
Two (2) or more years’ experience at the Vice President’s level at a comprehensive community college, preferably a multi-college system.
Demonstrated experience with budgeting, accounting, and fiscal management.
Demonstrated knowledge of the trends, challenges, and compliance issues facing today’s community college to include development.
