Program Coordinator- Office of University Registrar 14341
The Office of University Registrar at West Virginia University is seeking applications for a Project Coordinator. This position is responsible for providing direct service to WVU's prospective and admitted transfer students in relation to their transfer coursework. The candidate will assist in the articulation of the student's credit, the mitigation of the credit evaluation process, and provide academic guidance in relation to program admission requirements and estimated timeline to graduation. In doing so, the candidate will also assist in the management and growth of WVU's transfer credit database, as well as academic partnerships with other institutions.
In order to be successful in this position, the ideal candidate will:
Provide a comprehensive concierge service in relation to the articulation of transfer coursework for prospective and admitted transfer students, as well as all WVU constituencies.
Serve as an Office of University Registrar (OUR) point of contact for advanced placement, dual enrollment, transfer, transient, and study abroad credit and policies to prospective, admitted, and current students, advisors, recruitment staff and external constituents.
Mitigate student interaction with OUR Transfer articulation services by proactively reviewing records of prospective and recently admitted students in order to identify and articulate equivalent coursework within the scope of OUR Transfer's ability.
Communicate with and guide students through the evaluation process of transfer credit.
Maintain a working knowledge of WVU course and program requirements, program admission requirements, and utilization of transfer course credit across the WVU curriculum.
Provide information about, and answer questions regarding, academic options available to students in relation to the articulation of their transfer credit.
Utilize Degree Works to understand a student's current academic standing and viable other degree options
Serve as an academic transition point between admitted transfer students and the desired college/ department.
Assist in the growth and management of WVU's transfer credit database, as well as transfer partnerships with other institutions in efforts to more easily recruit transfer students.
Serve as a licensed account holder for Team Dynamix and assist in the management of the various workflows utilized to facilitate transfer credit.
Evaluate and establish course equivalencies based on evaluation of peer institution's practices.
Maintain, monitor and track timely progress of course evaluations by faculty through an established workflow.
Assist academic advisors at partner institutions regarding the translation of course credit, and program requirements obtainable for prospective student prior to transferring.
Expand and maintain WVU's transfer credit equivalency tables via data entry efforts in Banner.
Research and identify methods and strategies to expand WVU's transfer equivalency database.
Coordinate with external sources and college contacts to ensure course information is up to date in relations to course changes across transfer institutions.
Utilize and analyze course success data to identify equivalencies needed for review and appeal.
Develop and assist in the maintenance of the curriculum sheets for WVU's 2+2, 3+2, and other such articulated programs.
Maintain a working knowledge of curricular requirements of all WVU, WVU Tech, and Potomac State undergraduate programs, and their ability to be merged with external program curricula.
Communicate with WVU and partner academic points of contact regarding curriculum requirements as related to the development of articulated plans of study.
Serve as a liaison between department chairs, associate deans, and external academic administration contacts in the approval and finalization of articulated partnerships.
Pay Grade: 15
Bachelor's degree is required. Master's degree is preferred.
Two (2) years experience with student information systems.
One (1) year experience of student support and advising.
Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
Knowledge of student information systems (i.e. Banner)
Application of degree audit/planning tools (i.e. DegreeWorks)
Professional oral and written communications
Demonstrated ability to apply critical reasoning and problem solving
Ability to employ interpersonal communications and conflict resolution
Analytical skills prudent to conducting research
Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality
