Le Moyne College, Syracuse, NY, is accepting applications for a full time Assistant Controller to join our Finance team. Responsibilities include assisting in effecting the College's internal controls, preparation of tax filings, analysis of financial information and trends, assembly of internal and external financial statements and monitoring compliance with requirements of federal, state, and foundation grant awards and other restricted funds.
Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in a related field; Accounting degree preferred; a minimum of 4 years of related work or audit experience involving increasing levels of responsibility, preferably in a college or university setting, experience should also include a strong familiarity with financial reporting, employee benefit plan, grant, and tax procedures, laws and regulations; an understanding of GAAP, GAAS, tax regulations and business practices relevant to a private college or other complex not-for-profit organization; and knowledge of benefit plan operations and design.
