About the Opportunity: The Associate Director will assist the Director of Master's Degrees for the School of Education overseeing all aspects of licensure at Northeastern University, including teacher licensure, Speech Pathology and School Psychology programs. Responsible for overseeing early field work and practicum placements for MAT candidates.
Responsibilities: The position will split the percentage of time between the two areas. The focus of this position for 60% time is to provide oversight for field placement ensuring quality program delivery for students participating in the MAT program. In addition, the Associate Director will allocate 40% of their time overseeing all aspects of educator licensure at Northeastern University including Speech Pathology, School Psychology and Teacher licensure programming.
Master's degree in Education with experience teaching in the k-12 sector. Requires 5-6 years' experience in teaching, experience working with DESE standards and experience supervising teachers.
Knowledge of teacher preparation requirements
Experience in supervising student teachers
Experience in data management relative to required reporting for the licensure program.
Must be able to work well with many constituencies: students, faculty, academic coordinators, and program offices from Deans to support staff, as well as participating public school teachers and administrators.
Team work and strong organizational and interpersonal skills are essential.
Demonstrated well-developed skills related to organizing, prioritizing, and delegating as appropriate. Due to the varying levels at which this role must operate, self-direction, flexibility, hands-on approach, and ability to manage several initiatives and tasks simultaneously are critical for success.
Experience working with databases.
Experience developing placement sites for teacher preparation programs
