This position is for the Brown School - Admissions. The position is located at Goldfarb Hall. This position is for the Danforth Campus.
The Admissions and Recruitment Specialist supports all aspects of the admissions process with a primary focus on prospective student outreach and recruitment, application review and evaluation, applicant interviews, admissions counseling, and other activities to engage highly qualified candidates for the Brown School’s graduate programs in social work, public health and social policy.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Recruitment and Outreach
Serve as a representative of the Brown School and Washington University during independent recruitment trips.
Meet with prospective students and other University constituents in a variety of venues and present detailed information about the Brown School in a knowledgeable, professional and informative manner.
Develop and maintain proficient knowledge of programs, curriculum, faculty expertise, field education, accreditation, and admissions policies and procedures.
Serve as helpful and knowledgeable direct contact for prospective students; interpret policies and procedures and provide adept guidance throughout the inquiry, application and admissions process through various channels of communication.
Advise and counsel prospective students to assess fit with the Brown School and direction in the program based on short and long-term goals and interests.
Assist in the coordination of on and off-campus recruitment events such as Admitted Students Weekend, preview days and information sessions, focus groups, graduate school and Idealist fairs, professional conferences and regional events and receptions.
Prospect Management and Applicant Evaluation
Maintain accurate prospective student records in the admissions CRM system and assist with reporting needs.
Provide independent detailed review of admission materials and make substantive strategic judgements related to admission and scholarship.
Assist in coordinating the review process for admission, scholarship, and special programs.
Independently identify, implement and assess recruitment strategies, territories and tactics and provide consultation to management.
Work closely with management to regularly evaluate admissions criteria and scholarship allocation strategy.
Cultivate positive relationships with Brown School and Washington University campus colleagues, faculty, alumni, students, advisors and other constituents integral to student recruitment efforts.
Build and maintain partnerships and affiliations with agencies, institutions and other outside entities to support recruitment efforts and outreach to target populations such as service corps members, underrepresented minority groups, veterans, etc.
Perform other duties as assigned
The hiring range for this position is $38,000 - $45,000 annually.

WORKING CONDITIONS / EQUIPMENT: Office located within Brown School on the Danforth Campus. Laptop is provided. Extensive travel and some evening/weekend work required.
Prior public health and/or social work experience and/or one year of admissions, recruitment, sales, marketing or other relevant work experience.
Master's degree in social work, public health, or related area and previous admissions and recruitment experience.
