The Sr. Learning Technologies Analyst is a part of the Learning & Organization Effectiveness team and will work closely with the Director and Sr. Organization Effectiveness Consultants to deploy learning programs for UC San Diego Health Sciences and Health. This position is responsible for the day to day management and administration of the online learning management system and applies business process and analysis concepts to resolve issues. Facilitates, analyzes, documents, and implements business processes and procedural documentation changes, including LMS workflow processes, support procedures, and system configuration. The position also oversees in-depth testing and guidance to client departments who utilize the LMS for University-wide programs. Responsible for creating/generating reports and analyzing results from the learning management system.
This position will work closely with the Director and Sr. Consultant team to implement the e-learning strategy. You will use advanced technical skills related to learning management systems, multimedia design, assessment systems, communication tools, streaming media platforms, and multimedia creative applications to meet unique and often "new" requirements related to online course design and development. This position will design, develop, and manage UCSD-specific e-learning using a variety of authoring and multimedia tools to create storyboards/scripts and production-ready content and manage vendor relationships. You will partner with internal and external personnel to maximize the learning management system functionality and engage in projects related to the LMS. May assume responsibility for a program of courses offered at a university or with university affiliates.
Key Responsibilities: Administers the UC Learning Center system for entire Health Sciences/Health organization.Acts as primary contact for LMS to plan/execute upgrades, enhancements, and fixes.Collaborate and partner with various subject matter experts to create, design, and deploy eLearning solutions. Provides technical consulting on LMS projects. Analyze and create data reports for learning metrics.
Bachelor's Degree in Learning Technologies, Organization Development, Education, Industrial Organizational Psychology, Human Development or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
A minimum of three (3) years of Learning Management Systems (LMS) administration experience.
Demonstrated ability to conduct analysis and develop recommendations, demonstrating organizational and problem-solving skills.
Strong analytical, verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, collaboration and negotiation skills.
Proven ability to effectively elicit and/or provide information to diverse customers using facilitative consulting skills. Ability to effectively communicate technical information to a non-technical audience.
Advanced knowledge of the technical tools and platforms required to achieve the delivery of engaging and media-rich online learning content, and of trends in the use and effectiveness of educational technology and learning.
Demonstrated ability to use SCORM Compliant Content Development tools, (Articulate Storyline, Camtasia, Captivate, video and voice editing software, etc.)
Skilled in application of planning, resourcing and monitoring of effective design life cycles of training and other learning and performance solutions to support the organization.
Demonstrated project management skills including planning work, managing details, keeping multiple tasks and projects on track.
Strong knowledge of instructional design principles and learning strategies, including needs analysis, backwards design, learning outcomes and assessment design, and instructional approaches including lecture, discussion, activities, projects, etc.
Demonstrated ability to apply instructional design methodology in the development of e-learning and classroom based training.
Proven ability to evaluate training using standard training evaluation methods. Strong knowledge and skills with relevant business software systems and content creation tools.
Demonstrated knowledge of applying adult learning theories and education methodologies in creative ways.
