Job Summary: This is an open submission process for all persons applying for a research position within the Culverhouse College of Business at The University of Alabama. Persons holding these positions are to conduct research with various faculty members on a variety of projects. Positions are non-tenure earning staff positions.
Additional Department Summary: The University of Alabama seeks applications for Assistant, Associate, and Research Personnel Candidates. This position will be responsible for providing analytical support for research efforts, specifically those involving extramural funding opportunities. Success in this position is contingent on the ability to properly and effectively communicate appropriate statistical design methods as well as findings from these analytical procedures. This individual should have the ability to independently evaluate research investigations and appropriately select and implement analytic study designs as well as communicate findings to a variety of audiences. Additionally, this position may include oversight of graduate research assistants (GRA) and/or research interns. Funding for the position will be evaluated annually.
Required Minimum Qualifications: The rank of Assistant Research Personnel requires a Master’s degree in one or more specialized fields within the College or a closely related field. The ranks of Associate Research and Research Personnel require a Ph.D. degree in one or more specialized fields within the College or a closely related field. A minimum of a masters degree in statistics/biostatistics, math or a related field and two years analytics experience. Must have a strong working knowledge of relevant statistical analytic methods, relevant experience with organizing computer databases, and using statistical software (e.g., R, Python, SAS) OR Doctoral degree in statistics, math, or closely related field. Candidates with knowledge and ability to work in SQL will be favored.
