Budget and Coverage Analyst - Georgetown University Medical Center
The Budget and Coverage Analyst is responsible for generating clinical research billing plans and Medicare Coverage Analyses (MCA) for all industry sponsored studies. S/he will ensure budgeting/expense/coverage consistency across GU clinical trials documentation, including the protocol, informed consent(s), budget and contract payment S/he will negotiate and compile clinical research budgets and review payment tenns. Clinical research projects will include unique and/or complex proposals, awards and contracts. Duties include, but are not limited to:
Provide insight and direction to post award analysts related to invoicing *and managing clinical research awards at both Georgetown University Medical Center (GUMC), MedStar Health Research Institute (MHRJ), Georgetown-MedStar University Hospital (GUH), and other MedStar entities as appropriate. The primary focus is on clinical research funded by private industry funding sources.
Demonstrate support for compliance in the performance of job duties and responsibilities.
Develop and maintaining knowledge of, and perform job functions in compliance with rules, regulation, policies and statutes,
Maintain knowledge of compliance, perform job functions in compliance with applicable entities (MedStar Health Research Institute and/or Georgetown University) policies and procedures;
Report compliance concerns in to immediate supervisor in an appropriate and timely manner.
Review current business processes and continually seek opportunities for improvement; successfully manage competing priorities to meet scientific center objectives; work closely and coordinates activities with applicable Contracts and Grants departments; effectively collaborate with multiple departments; work in a team environment.
Responsible for the following key process which are critical to commercial clinical trial start up and conduct for all commercial trials conducted at MGUH and MGMC.
Bachelor's degree related to health care or business.
Minimum of three years experience in clinical trials budgets in a hospital, or university or Academic Medical Center settings.
Direct experience with budgeting oncology clinical trials, Medicare Coverage Analyses, and research finance.
Experience with Clinical Trials Management System (Encore) and be able to input trials and budgets into system.
Experience in Oncology is a plus.
