As a Software Engineer within Information Access, you can expect to perform the following duties and more:
Use technologies like ASP.Net MVC/Core, Bootstrap, Angular, React and others to modify existing software to build scalable applications, fix issues and implement enhancements to adapt to any infrastructure changes
Consult with our customers about software system design and maintenance, and be a key part of the user requirements gathering and analysis process
Provide Tier 2 technical support for all of our custom software applications
Collaborate with your peers on system design based on custom specifications, and design and implement database structures that can support highly scalable web applications
Develop stored procedures and packages in Oracle PL/SQL as part of data feeds between our ERP systems and large campus tools like Canvas
Develop new custom web applications that serve the needs of our constituents
Develop and consume REST and SOAP based APIs
Develop and direct software system testing and validation procedures and documentation
Supervise student programmers
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science - Software Engineering emphasis or equivalent experience
Candidates should have at least 1+ years of demonstrable experience with ASP.Net C#
Competent with interface design (not necessarily visual design, but tool design). Candidate can put together a compelling prototype without having a design handed off, or can follow existing design patterns to expand on an existing UI
A solid understanding of web application architecture, object oriented software, and design patterns
Experience with CSS3 & HTML5
Experience developing with Oracle OR Microsoft SQL Server databases
Experience with jQuery & the Bootstrap framework
Experience with Git version control
Oracle & PL/SQL development experience
Experience querying for data against PeopleSoft Solutions - SIS, HR and Finance
Experience with MVC
ASP development experience
Experience with Angular JS or React JS
Excellent communication skills
The ability to write high-quality, well commented code
Ability to give occasional presentations to peers and other internal audiences
Experience conducting code reviews
Experience with code merges/release management

$54,000 - $60,000
