TECHNICAL ASSOCIATE I , McGovern Institute for Brain Research (2 openings), to join the Wickersham Laboratory, which specializes in developing novel genetic techniques for neuroscience. Responsibilities will include DNA cloning, bacterial and yeast culture, eukaryotic cell culture, transgenic mouse colony management, stereotaxic injections of viral vectors in mice, histology, confocal microscopy, and other miscellaneous laboratory work.
Job Requirements REQUIRED : a bachelor's degree in life sciences (e.g., biology, neuroscience, biochemistry, biomedical engineering) or a related discipline; and at least two years of relevant, full-time experience, which may include research/lab experience gained as an undergraduate. Should be able to work both independently and collaboratively with a small team and have strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills. PREFERRED : experience with molecular biology, cell culture, and working with rodents. Job #18549
