Position Summary: Under direction of the Director Technical Services or other designated manager; provides Technical expertise and field support related to design, programming, modification, repair and operation of automated building systems. Responsible for specifications, control schematics, wiring diagrams, sequences of operation, software design and related hardware to effectively automate and operate temperature and ventilation controls and energy management systems. Will supervise both in-house staff and contract labor. Will oversee various related projects.
Prerequisite Qualifications: - B.S. in Engineering or related field. - Knowledge of BAS, EMS and BMS. - Must have five (5) years of experience in building automation systems. - Extensive knowledge of Building Automation Systems (BAS), Direct Digital Controls (DDC), LON, LonWorks, BACnet, MODbus, Distech Controls, Circon Controls, Andover Controls, Pneumatic Controls, Tridium, Niagara AX, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), Chillers, Boilers, Roof Top Units, Split Systems, VRV Systems, VAV Systems. - Familiar with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Standards; - Ability to organize, prioritize and perform under pressure in both public and internal capacities; -Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing; - Possess strong communication and problem solving skills. Computer literacy: Working knowledge of typical office software products including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Familiar with design programs such AutoCAD and Visio. At the university's discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be excepted where the candidate can demonstrate to the satisfaction of the university, an equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position
