THIS IS NOT AN H1- B OPPORTUNITY ResponsibilitiesThe primary focus of the Business Intelligence Developer (payroll title Clinical Informatics Specialist 4) is to translate business requirements into robust applications to be consumed by executive leadership and stakeholders across the enterprise. The Developer is responsible for developing and implementing processes in ambulatory operations that support patient and client expectations and meet business objectives. Potential projects include development of reporting solutions that will be critical for managing the business and analysis of clinical data to identify breakthrough innovations that improve process quality while following organizational initiatives. Provides leadership and professional expertise in coordinating business analytics on major projects and initiatives affecting clinical practice efficiencies, patient access and experience, and quality improvement efforts. The Developer is accountable for the coordination and completion of data projects between UC Davis Medical Center, School of Medicine and external affiliations affecting highly specialized multi-functional clinical practices and business units. Identifies objectives, formulates strategies, manages resources, and functions effectively with a high degree of independence in analyzing and reporting progress and outcomes. Required Qualifications
Extensive experience designing, creating, testing, and implementing complex statistical reporting solutions utilizing technologies such as Business Objects, Qlikview, or Tableau.
Extensive knowledge of data warehouses, data stores, and or data marts.
Experience working with healthcare clinical information systems or system implementation teams for complex projects.
Experience with and consistent supporter of software change control and production change control processes and procedures.
Strong quantitative skills, knowledge of statistical tests and software, dataset organization, cleaning, manipulation and transformation.
Demonstrated analytical and critical reasoning skills.
Fluent in data handling best practices and understanding of potential pitfalls.
Investigative skills to vigilantly compare/contrast data quality for validation purposes.
Effective negotiation and persuasion skills to bring together a broad range of representatives from different areas and with diverse missions and needs, to create collaborative relationships.
Planning skills to analyze program goals and objectives given current health care trends, to make accurate short and long-term projections to establish program needs and resource requirements.
Excellent organizational skills to determine workload priorities in order to the enable timely completion of tasks. Ability to work effectively and independently under pressure with a minimum of direction.
Successful experience establishing effective working relationships with staff.
Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and function effectively in a complex organizational environment demanding a high energy level, discretion, patience, flexibility, enthusiasm, and humor.
Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed to complete work assignments and attend to the needs of assigned projects.
Epic Systems certification or Epic technical experience.
In-depth working knowledge of database management tools, Epic modules, Epic data warehousing and other data systems, clinical software, and computer applications data architecture.
Familiarity with the healthcare industry and various local and national quality and performance measurements.
Ability to move between various locations throughout the UCDH Sacramento campus and travel between community locations and the UCDH Sacramento campus.
