The Gene Therapy Program (GTP) is entering a new era of unprecedented opportunity with the great potential to reshape the face of medicine as we know it. Our discoveries have set the stage for successful treatments and possibly even cures for devastating genetic diseases.
The laboratory of Dr. Jim Wilson, at GTP of the University of Pennsylvania, has been a leader in the development of innovative vector technology for close to three decades. We have emerged as the âœgo-toâ organization for public and private partners, who want to participate in the gene therapy space. Currently, we are positioned to lead another round of vector innovation and establish pre-clinical and clinical proof-of-concept in therapeutic applications of in-vivo genome editing.
Continuation of all GTP positions is contingent upon funding.
The University of Pennsylvania Nucleic Acid Technologies Core is a state of the art facility which provides next generation sequencing services in support of basic, preclinical and translational research.
As the Core Program Manager, in conjunction with the Core Director you will be responsible for developing and implementing laboratory operational efficiencies including standardizing sample submission and optimizing sequencer runs for existing NGS library prep and sequencing services. In collaboration with other core staff members and the Associate Director you will be responsible for delivering the highest quality data for existing library preparation and sequencing services. Under the guidance of a staff bioinformatician you will use basic analysis tools to perform primary NGS data analysis. You will assist in implementing and standardizing liquid handling to existing services. You will interface with researchers within the Gene Therapy Program to help standardize and optimize weekly sequencing runs and provide exemplary customer service. You will report directly to the Associate Director and Core Director of the Nucleic Acid Technology Core.
â¢ This position requires an M.S. and 3-5 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
