Involves providing administrative oversight for an executive, including the coordination of communications and pertinent data among a group of the executive's subordinate management staff. Performs and / or oversees special projects or assignments that are highly sensitive or complex in nature, requiring a high level of independence and initiative in execution and implementation. Handles details and oversees work of a highly confidential and critical nature to support the executive on matters of significance.
Under the general supervision of the Assistant Dean for Planning and Academic Programs, provide direct administrative and analytical support to the dean in a wide variety of areas including special projects, academic programs administration, budgets, correspondence, communications, and operations. Coordinate activities on the dean's behalf, act as a liaison to senior management across campus, oversee administrative support to the dean and general dean's office communication, independently identify issues or problems within specific management areas and research issues, prioritize tasks and work independently with a high degree of confidentiality.
The PBSci Division provides general science and math education for all UCSC undergraduates, educates undergraduate science and engineering majors, and maintains research and graduate programs of national and international stature. The division is comprised of departments and programs of study, organized research units, instructional and research programs to attract and retain a diverse population of students, and a variety of support programs and facilities. The PBSci Division is home to a wide variety of interdisciplinary collaborations, special programs and unique areas of study.
