Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a motivated Program Coordinator for the Population Science Department at the Cancer Institute of New Jersey.
Under the direction of the Principal Investigator, the Program Coordinator plans and coordinates the conduct of highly specialized and technical research for the population studies research group.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Participates in all aspects of research and ensures compliance with study protocols.
Develops work plans, coordinates activities, and communicates to members of the study team regarding study activities.
Assists with designing, developing, disseminating, and implementing behavioral interventions.
Responsible for study data management, preliminary data screening, and data cleaning throughout the project.
Assists with progress reports, administrative, regulatory, and study accrual/progress updates for all assigned studies.
Conducts targeted literature searches and web searches. As directed, provides support in the preparation of presentations.
Responsible for performance evaluations.
Manages administrative and fiscal responsibilities such as contracts, budgets, ordering, invoices, and participant incentives.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant science or related field (e.g. Public Health, Psychology, Social Work, Health Education, or Nursing) with three (3) years of research-related experience.
Prior research experience necessary.
Equivalent experience, education, and/or training may be substituted for the education requirements.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Demonstrated detail orientation and flexibility; strong organizational, communication, problem-solving, multi-tasking, prioritizing, and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills.
Must be computer and internet literate with proficiency and working knowledge of database and reporting tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, REDCap, Endnote, and SPSS programming.
Master’s Degree in related research and/or counseling experience.
Strong interest in cancer prevention, behavioral health, and e/m Health and social media.
Research experience working in a grant-funded, academic medical setting.
