Research Support - Laboratory/Non-Laboratory, Staff/Administrative
Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey is seeking a Temporary Research Assistant (MYVPC) for the department of Epidemiology at the School Of Public Health.
Under direction of the Project PI will assist with the planning and implementation of a funded research study centering on youth engaged environmental approaches to violence prevention in three (3) urban centers in Camden, NJ. This position is 100% grant-funded and located in Piscataway, NJ. Position will require travel to Camden, NJ.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Assists with preparation and administration of data collection tools and consent forms.
Assists with maintaining contact with project collaborators including community, city and academic partners.
Assists with assembling research literature or work on other related research projects.
Assists with data entry and management.
Assists with project related administrative tasks and coordination.
Works with municipal administrative data, semi-structured interviews, land assessments and community surveys.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree required.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Prior database maintenance and construction experience.
Must have experience conducting literature reviews.
Must have excellent MS Office skills.
Applicant must be able to interact well with people in a professional environment as well as community settings, should have excellent organizational and analytical skills, effective verbal and written communication skills, and ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
Should show interest in community level interventions, urban health disparities and violence prevention research.
Must have vehicle and valid driver's license. Will be required to travel to Camden, NJ.
Must be knowledgeable of IRB and human research protection regulations.
Candidate who is completing or is working towards a Master's Degree.
Experience working with urban communities.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Must be able to lift or exert up to 25 pounds.
