Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey is seeking a motivated Research Teaching Specialist IV for the Center for Tobacco Studies within the School of Public Health.
Under the direction of the Principal Investigator, the Research Teaching Specialist IV conducts specialized research in the area of tobacco. May assist in the management/coordination of research studies.
Among the key duties of this position are:
Assists in the establishment of performance standards, as well as in the selection of methodology and instrumentation.
Assists in conducting a continuous program of research and development focused on tobacco. Evaluates existing procedures and proposes modifications or changes in order to keep the methodology and procedures current.
As assigned, performs various research and technical procedures.
Assists with the instructing and training of students and interns, as required.
Keeps detailed records of procedures and experiments. May be required to compile data and present results.
Submits purchase recommendations, to his/her supervisor, of equipment and supplies.
Assists the Principal Investigator with the preparation of grant applications.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Master's Degree in a relevant science, or a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant science plus one (1) year of related research experience.
