The Lead of Transit and Mobility Operations will assist the Supervisor with staff scheduling, shuttle route planning, will provide commercial driver instruction and testing as needed. Assist in such duties as training new employees and conducting pre-trip (vehicle) inspections. When required, will perform duties as a Transit and Mobility Driver operating a 4 to 36 passenger vehicle on all streets and highways surrounding the campus and Medical Center. Direct questions, concerns and customer complaints to Supervisor as appropriate.

Must be able to work outdoors occasionally in a variety of climates.
Must be able to stand and/or sit for long periods of time.
May be required to work altered shifts or hours. Weekend or holiday shifts and overtime may be required.
Proven knowledge of all shuttle bus routes and procedures to ensure that this service is performed for the campus community: students, staff, faculty and visitors in an effective and efficient manner.
Demonstrated experience working on a customer service team; ability to take ownership of customer needs and improve service delivery.
Prior experience with operating a 4 to 36 passenger vehicle on all city streets and highways.
Demonstrated knowledge of California state Commercial Driving procedures.
Proven ability to interact diplomatically with staff and the public in a high volume, continuous public-contact setting. Experience working with a diverse student and staff population in the fair and equitable assignment of driving shifts.
Excellent verbal, written and electronic communication skills. Ability to independently draft correspondence pertaining to Transportation & Parking Services operation, policies and procedures.
Skill at keeping records in a neat, legible and orderly fashion. Skill at completing forms thoroughly. Skill at maintaining filing system for rapid, easy retrieval by self and others.
Ability to assist in any emergency situation as directed by supervisor or TS Director or Community Safety Representative.
Willingness and ability to work with department staff and students to ensure that the department and University policies are complied with in a professional manner.
Employment is contingent upon possessing and maintaining a valid Class B California driver's license with an unlimited passenger endorsement and no-air brake restrictions in addition to a Medical Examiners Certificate.
Employment is also contingent upon successful completion of a drug and alcohol test. Will be subject to periodic driver license checks through the DMV Pull Notice Program as well as random drug and alcohol tests.
DMV and Background check clearance are required prior to hire.
Demonstrated experience using a two-way radio system.
