As a Research Technician you will perform research activities in collaboration with internal/external personnel to complete science-based projects. You will normally receive detailed instructions while making observations, analyzing data and interpreting results according to laboratory procedures. The Research Technician will provide support to all technical/research staff and postdocs.
The Department of Pediatrics has developed a truly innovative program that seeks to bring discoveries from the laboratory to the bedside. This program dubbed the Pediatric Translational Medicine Program (PTMP) represents a translational program that integrates clinical genetic testing of patient tumors with in-depth molecular and biochemical characterization of tumors to help inform and guide future therapies. As the research component to the PTMP, we have developed the complementary Pediatric Experimental Validation Program (PEVP) that lies at the intersection of research and the clinic. As a part of the PEVP, we have developed an active patient-derived xenograft (PDX) tumor mouse modeling platform which are novel tools for patient-centered research projects. We are seeking a candidate who will be part of Pediatrics PDX program. The candidate will be an integral member of the team and will be responsible for animal works related generating, maintaining and utilizing PDX models. The candidate will perform animal handling, data collection, data entry, data analysis, and sample acquisition for research projects, databases, and research protocols within MSKCC.
