Trinity Christian College invites applications for a full-time position in the Education department, beginning August of 2020. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to teach across programs: traditional, adult, and graduate programs. Candidates will have expertise in literacy, methods of teaching reading, and K-12 teaching experience.
Ph.D. or Ed. D. required in Literacy or Curriculum and Instruction. Previous college-level teaching experience is desired.
Trinity seeks faculty candidates who are professing Christians and are committed to excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service. Successful candidates will possess the ability to articulate the relationship between their academic discipline, the vocational preparation of their students, and a vision for human flourishing that emerges from the Christian faith. Successful candidates are also dedicated to personal involvement with students outside of the classroom through advising and other informal academic and cultural settings.
This is an ideally a 9-month tenure-track faculty role with teaching assignments fall, spring, and summer. Specific teaching assignments will depend on how the candidate's area of expertise intersects with department needs. Potential curricular areas include graduate Children’s Literature, Middle Grades Literature, Young Adult Literature, English as a Second Language/Bilingual Education courses, and related courses. Also, the candidate could teach graduate courses such as Framing Questions and Issues in Education; Technology to Promote Teaching and Learning; Teaching Diverse Students in Diverse Settings. Additional responsibilities include academic advising, meeting with prospective students, participation in the life of the department, scholarly and professional achievement, and college service.
