Trinity Christian College invites applications for a full-time position in the Education department, beginning August of 2020. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to teach across programs: traditional, adult, and graduate programs. Candidates will have expertise in high incidence special education, methods of teaching, and K-12 special education teaching experience.
Ph.D. or Ed.D. required in Special Education. Previous college-level teaching experience is desired.
Trinity seeks faculty candidates who are professing Christians and are committed to excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service. Successful candidates will possess the ability to articulate the relationship between their academic discipline, the vocational preparation of their students, and a vision for human flourishing that emerges from the Christian faith. Successful candidates are also dedicated to personal involvement with students outside of the classroom through advising and other informal academic and cultural settings.
This ideally is a 9-month tenure-track faculty that includes teaching fall, spring, and summer. Specific teaching assignments will include Introduction to Special Education, Teaching Students with High Incidence Disabilities Age 3 – Grade 5 and Grade 6 – Age 21, and Psychological Diagnosis of Exceptional Learners. Potentially, other special education courses could be taught based on the needs of the Education Unit. Additional responsibilities include academic advising, meeting with prospective students, participation in the life of the department, scholarly and professional achievement, and college service.
