The Systems Administrator provides overall leadership for the IT team and serves as the lead contact for technology support for the College of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences (CAES). The Systems Administrator provides information technology support and consultation to all departments within CAES. Primary responsibility Webb Hall, Benbow Hall, Kannapolis Research Station, and the A&T University Farm.
Responsibilities include: - Routine and non-routine diagnostic and maintenance on Windows 7, Windows 10, Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2012, Windows Server 2012 R2, Windows Server 2016. - Testing systems and other modifications, upgrades Microsoft beta releases and current branch releases - Tests patches on the windows system before they are deployed to end-users - Research of various backup/disaster recovery software - Oversight of DFS servers; implementation of Microsoft System Operations Manager - Windows update process and reporting, to ensure that windows computers are staying update with security patches and updates, as well as Microsoft products - Vendor contacts to determine how best to enhance current systems - Provide innovative technical solution and support via phone and remotely via various tools - Possess a basic knowledge of networking and advanced Active Directory Knowledge, Scripting knowledge, knowledge of windows environment and Mac OS, iOS, Android systems; Basic web design/server knowledge - Creates white papers and step-by-step instruction documents. Trains users when changes in procedures occur - Responsible for mass deployments of computing devices - Oversee projects and continue configuration of System Center Operation manager - Implementation of software catalog to allow clients self-services to applications, updates, and upgrades - Infrastructure redesign to better utilize existing and new hardware requirements for more efficient use by clients, management by CAES IT - Consults with and serves as a technical research to IT Operations Systems System Programmer/Specialist, The Association of Research Directors, and System Center Configuration Managers across the UNC System - Takes the initiative to research and make recommendations for system improvements to leadership. - Plans work of other team members and self as directed by supervisor with independent tasks

Experience with Windows and MAC operating systems, iOS, Android Systems, Windows servers, DFS servers, networking systems, Active Directoriy, Scirpting, and system Center Operations manager
