Research Support - Laboratory/Non-Laboratory, Staff/Administrative
The Pediatric Public Health Initiative, under the direction of Dr. Mona Hanna-Attisha, seeks a Data Entry Operator for its CDC-funded grant to establish a Flint Registry. The Flint Registry’s goal is to connect people who were impacted by the Flint Water Crisis to resources and programs that serve to minimize the effects of lead on their health while promoting wellness and recovery.
The Data Entry Operator will primarily be responsible for processing participant payment incentives and entering participant data from paper surveys into a database. S/he will enter data into multiple databases, verify source documents/information and obtain missing data, and perform reviews of databases for accuracy.
The ideal candidate will have experience entering data and communicating and working with people of all ages.
Duties and Responsibilities: • Enter participant data and incentive payments into an electronic database. Verify data to ensure accuracy and resolve inconsistencies and discrepancies. • Prepare and send mailings • Attend trainings and project meetings • Keep information confidential • Perform other duties as assigned
Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills
Knowledge normally acquired from specialized training such as that acquired in one year of Data Processing or Key Punching; up to six months related experience in data processing, key entry or database; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• High School Diploma or GED • Proficient skills using keyboard and computer • Able to work independently, as well as part of a team • Excellent listener with the ability to understand concerns and overcome objections • Positive attitude and self-motivated • Able to follow standard operating and project-related procedures • Knowledge of the Flint community and/or Flint water crisis • Able to work a combination of daytime and/or evenings, throughout the week and/or weekend • Excellent interpersonal, written, and communication skills • Experience communicating with people of all ages • Excellent computer skills, types at least 40 words per minute • Data entry experience • Multi-tasking skills
