This position assists with the overall maintenance of the facilities and property of University of Saint Joseph. Weekend and off-hour coverage may be a part of the work schedule.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

• Performs the following activities with a high level of expertise:
  • commercial and residential renovations,
  • general building maintenance
  • general HVAC,
  • plumbing,
  • electrical,
  • carpentry.
• Assists in general maintenance work including:
  • Lock repair and replacement
  • Light fixture maintenance
  • Morning building inspections
  • HVAC, plumbing  and carpentry,
  • Minor electrical
  • Snow removal
•  Notifies Lead or other member of management of any safety issues.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in general building maintenance, HVAC, plumbing and minor electrical required.
• Licensed in HVAC, Plumbing or electrical preferred.
• Must be service-minded, prompt, courteous and always demonstrate a positive attitude
• Able to work flexible hours, available for emergency situations.
• Ability to lift heavy objects on a regular basis.
• Able to function independently while operating effectively within a team environment.
• Cultural competency to work with diverse student and/or employee population
• Exhibits a high level of professionalism, leadership, creative problem solving, diplomacy, negotiation and sales skills, and the ability to manage complex projects with minimal supervision
• Professional, courteous demeanor and appearance; ability to engage positively and work professionally with students, faculty, staff and administration and represent the University professionally to the public
