This position assists with the overall maintenance of the facilities and property of University of Saint Joseph. Weekend and off-hour coverage may be a part of the work schedule.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
Performs the following activities with a high level of expertise:
commercial and residential renovations,
general building maintenance
Assists in general maintenance work including:
Lock repair and replacement
Light fixture maintenance
Morning building inspections
HVAC, plumbing and carpentry,
Notifies Lead or other member of management of any safety issues.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience in general building maintenance, HVAC, plumbing and minor electrical required.
Licensed in HVAC, Plumbing or electrical preferred.
Must be service-minded, prompt, courteous and always demonstrate a positive attitude
Able to work flexible hours, available for emergency situations.
Ability to lift heavy objects on a regular basis.
Able to function independently while operating effectively within a team environment.
Cultural competency to work with diverse student and/or employee population
Exhibits a high level of professionalism, leadership, creative problem solving, diplomacy, negotiation and sales skills, and the ability to manage complex projects with minimal supervision
Professional, courteous demeanor and appearance; ability to engage positively and work professionally with students, faculty, staff and administration and represent the University professionally to the public
