The Laboratory for Soft Machines & Electronics is looking for a Research Associate for a fixed term position in the areas of emerging electronics and energy devices. The research work is highly multi-disciplinary, and the specific topics include: Smart packaging, technologies, Sensors; Artificial Skins; Stretchable electronics; Wearable Electronics; Bio-integrated Electronics;
Applicants for the position must hold a PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, Materials Science, Physics or related field. Experience in design, modeling, manufacturing, and rapid proto-typing of electronics, sensors and energy device is required.
Candidates with a strong background in deformable/wearable electronics, triboelectric, nanogenerators, soft robotics, finite element analysis (FEA), 3D/4D printing of functional materials are especially encouraged to apply. Experience in development of surgical robots and medical device design is highly desirable. Skills in using ABAQUS, COMSOL, and SolidWorks is a plus not required. Candidates should demonstrate a good record of publication, experience of proposal development, and ability to guide postgraduates and undergraduates in research programs.
