Minnesota West Community and Technical College seeks a Music instructor, with a Theatre background, dedicated to excellence in teaching who desires to become part of a creative, vibrant, student-centered learning community. We are seeking an individual who is dedicated to teaching, is committed to students, student learning, and student success. Candidates should be interested in participating in classroom research, outcomes-based assessment, quality improvement, and faculty development.
Deliver classroom and/or online instruction.
Producer for fall theater production.
Participate in assessment of student learning.
Participate in department and college curriculum development.
Participate in college committees and college-wide initiatives.
Participate in department accreditation and review.
Engage in scholarly and other professional development activities
Maintain consistent communication with students, staff, and administration
Participate in college and community activities
Adopt the latest technology into teaching methods
Participate in new course development.
Conduct classroom research and other assessment/evaluation activities.
Master's degree in Music.
Master's degree in any field with a minimum of 18 graduate semester credits in Music.
Eighteen (18) graduate semester credits in Theatre in addition to Music.
At least two years of college-level Music and/or Theater teaching experience.
Theater production experience (directing).
Experience with implementation of pedagogy for technical and community college students.
Experience teaching online and hybrid courses.
Skills using latest teaching technologies, including learning management systems, video, and more.
Understanding of the mission of the community and technical college.
Multilingual or multicultural background or experience working with underserved populations.
