A well-established lab in the Perelman School of Medicine is seeking a research lab technician C to perform experimental cardiovascular research; applicants should have at least 3-5 years of general lab experience.Â Â The ideal candidate for this position will be a well-organized individual who is motivated to perform rigorous, high level science and learn new techniques.
The primary role for this position is to conduct research under the supervision of a physician scientist within a medium sized laboratory. The position is well suited for an individual capable of performing experiments and compiling data independently on a daily basis. Experience with standard molecular biology techniques (PCR, western blotting, cell culture) and extensive mouse handling experience is required. Â Â
1 - Design, perform, and analyze mouse experiments with endpoints such as histology and microscopy, flow cytometry, and cardiovascular physiology
2 - Assisting with animal husbandry and colony maintenance
3 - Maintain a detailed lab notebook, communicate results with post-doctoral fellow
4 - Cell culture and biochemistry experiments such as transfection, qPCR, western blotting
5 - Literature and experimental protocol review
6 - Other duties as assigned
Qualifications Bachelor's Degree with 3-5 years of related experience in research, clinical study, project and people management or equivalent combination of education and experience is required
