This position will work as a member of an interdisciplinary team providing continuity of care for patients discharged from UVA Health and transitioning to home or skilled nursing facility. This technician works with a Pharmacist team to support the programâ™s goal of improving health outcomes.
Prepares and delivers medications to patients and/or nursing units under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist/licensed independent practitioner.
This position is listed for a Pharmacy Technician General. Applicants with prior hospital or health system pharmacy experience may be eligible for Cross-Trained or Specialist positions with a higher pay range.
The UVA Health System Pharmacy Technician Training Program is here to help you start a career as a registered pharmacy technician. Our program, which partners with Pharmacy Technician University, will give you all of the skills and knowledge you need to be a versatile, effective pharmacy technician in a variety of settings including hospital and retail pharmacy. Training is provided on the job, and youâ™ll receive pay and benefits while completing the program requirements. Classroom and experiential training will take place at UVA Medical Center in Charlottesville.

Candidates accepting a position will continue in their role as a pharmacy technician after completing the program and achieving their Virginia registration. Candidates must complete Pharmacy Technician University and achieve registration within 6 months of employment.
